What is the closest thing to traveling the world, especially during Covid times ? For me, it's staycation !
I stayed at the most instagrammable hotel earlier this year, and it was one of my favorite staycation experiences in Vancouver - the Seaside Hotel in North Vancouver.
The Seaside Hotel is a brand new boutique hotel under the Executive Hotels and Resorts. It's situated right in the center of Lonesdale Quay. The Lonesdale Quay area is recently going through some exciting changes - with many new trendy restaurants, galleries, and events added to the vibrant community. It is steps away from the Lonesdale Quay Market, and right beside the romantic skating rink. You don't even need to drive there as it is just minutes from the Seabus terminal. But if you do have a car, it is not too far from most of Vancouver's popular touristy attractions adn Downtown's nightlife. If you look further, you can see the supernatural style of snowcapped mountains and the Pacific West Coast forests, all rise majestically from the harbor-lined ocean.
The 84,000 sqft hotel houses 71 signature design, boutique rooms and suites with state of the art amenities. We stayed at the Ocean View Suite that carries contemporary West Coast finishings. I absolutely loved our interior - our room echoes the Vancouver's natural beauty. It has natural wood detailing and pairs with a high-end marble bathroom.
The room's color combination was a comfortable off-white with hints of smoky rose. With the stand alone tub and a hanging chair right by the window, our room was the perfect Instagramable spot for interior portraits !
My favorite is the floor to ceiling panorama windows that let in ample natural light that covers through the living room to the bathroom. The best part of these windows is not only the incredible view behind it, but how it has motorized window coverings ! Imagine waking up in the morning, and with a press of a button, lets in the gentle morning light.
We had dinner at the restaurant, Seaisde Provisions, located just right on the ground floor. Dinner was amazing to say the least. We sat at the bar and were able to take in the entire behind the scenes in the open kitchen.
We didn't need to use the guest services much, but checking in, parking, and checking out, was all a breeze and very straight forward.
Our experience at the Sea Side Hotel was nothing short of incredible. I honestly highly recommend this hotel, and the Ocean View Suite to all locals who are looking for a staycation spot, or tourists who want to experience the most of Vancouver in style.
